The Listening Ear Service

Closure of Sandyford Counselling Services

Following the outcome of Glasgow City HSCP IJB meeting on Wednesday, 19 March 2025, we can now confirm that the SCASS (Sandyford Counselling and Support Service) will cease to operate as of the 30th November 2025.

Patients who are currently being seen in the service will have their counselling complete by this date. No further referrals can be made to the service.

If you have a concern about your mental health or emotional well being then NHS Inform - www.nhsinform.scot - has a number of useful resources.

The Listening Ear service provides short term emotional support and advice.

Our Listening Ear Support Worker is experienced in supporting people in a sexual health context, using counselling skills.

What to expect:

- Support is either face to face, by telephone or online.

- We offer single sessions for information/advice or sign posting to other services or up to 6 sessions, if appropriate.

- You can either self-referral to the service by contacting us directly, or we also accept referrals from other health professionals within Sandyford.

Please call 0141 211 6700 to find out more.

Please note:

- This service is for over 18's only

- There may be a short waiting time for appointments.

- We can only provide support for those who meet our service criteria - more info on this can be found on our main counselling service page, here.

- The Listening Ear Service does not provide counselling.

The need to respect client confidentiality is a core principle of  Sandyford Counselling and Support Services. There are exceptions to this confidentiality, for example if you are at risk, but this will be explained in more detail at your first meeting with the support worker.

More info on confidentiality can be found on our main counselling service page.
